TRAINING

Hugh Dasken has an Instructor’s Diploma and has conducted training as described below:

Undersea Vehicles Course

Created the 36-hour course Undersea Vehicles and taught it four times at the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

  • The course was intended for people involved in the design and operation of manned submersibles and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), and provided an introduction to the concepts of designing an underwater vehicle.

  • End-of-course evaluations ranked the course highly (5 out of 5) in many categories.

Operations and Maintenance Training

  • Trained the Canadian Navy manned submersible SDL-1 operator-maintainers in the functioning of the life support gas and ballast systems.

  • Trained the US Navy PRMS rescue submersible operator-maintainers in the functioning of the oxygen system and mating skirt dewatering systems.

Tube Bending Training

  • Trains technicians in the science and art of tube bending.
